Launches Sustainable Manufacturing To International Designers, April 2023

Lorelei Bookluck, Of Lost Lorelei, Launches Sustainable Manufacturing To International Designers.

I stand before you today as a designer who is passionate about creating sustainable and environmentally-friendly clothing. I believe that it is not only possible but also easy to design for the environment first, and I want to share with you why.

As a designer, I have always believed that the environment should come first in our design process. I strongly believe that it's not only possible but also easy to design for the environment first. And let me tell you why.

Firstly, designing for the environment first challenges us to think outside the box. It pushes us to be more creative and innovative in our designs. It encourages us to look for new ways of doing things, using eco-friendly materials, and finding new techniques that reduce our environmental impact.

Secondly, when we design for the environment first, we create products that are not only beautiful but also responsible and sustainable. We take into account the entire lifecycle of our products, from the materials we use to the end of their useful life. We aim to minimise waste, reduce pollution, and create products that are long-lasting and can be reused or recycled.

We have spent the last 5 years developing our own supply chain and opening up our manufacturing to other designers because we believe that it is important to make a positive difference to the environment. By developing our own supply chain, we can ensure that our materials are sourced sustainably and ethically, reducing the negative impact of our manufacturing processes on the environment.

By opening up our manufacturing to other designers, we are able to share our knowledge and expertise in sustainable manufacturing, helping others to adopt environmentally friendly practices in their own production processes. This collective effort can have a greater impact on the environment than individual efforts, as more people are able to make positive changes and reduce their carbon footprint.

We also believe that it is important to help others because we understand that the fashion industry has a significant impact on the environment and on the communities where it operates. By supporting other designers in adopting sustainable practices, we can help to reduce the negative impact of the industry as a whole, and promote a more ethical and sustainable approach to fashion.

We take pride in being inventive with our multi-wear pieces, which allow our customers to harness the power of their creativity, responsibly. We love the challenge of sticking to eco-friendly or dead-stock fabrics while keeping an accessible price point. It's not always easy, but it's worth it to do the right thing by our customers and the environment.

Thanks to all of you who challenge us to think differently and push us to be better designers. It has been a pleasure to serve your needs, and it's been good for our souls to design responsibly. Let us continue to design for the environment first, and together, we can create a better world for ourselves and future generations.
